Meet Dori & Camille

I’ve been married for oh so long to my husband, John, and we make the great state of North Carolina our home. I was heading into my empty nest years and took up art as a hobby, not really thinking it would become a journey. However, life’s road is full of twists and turns, and during Covid painting became my passion. I especially love watercolor for its vibrancy, subtlety, and textures. I really love functional art, especially art that can travel with me (because travel happens to be my other passion!). As we came out of the pandemic and started to fly again, I noticed that so many bags were kind of boring. Et voila! Miks & Match was born. Now, when I pack for my next trip, I’m excited to travel with bags that are bright and joyful. I hope our playful purses, pouches and packs awaken your sense of adventure and inspire you to get out there! See you on the road!

• My Favorite Travel Destination: France. I love the language, the food, the wine,... all of it.

• Bucket List Destination: Thailand. It is soooo far away but I will someday get there.

I have always had a passion for art. When I was a little kid, I would draw so much that my mom had to make me a special art desk. The passion has stuck and now I am following my passion for set design. But I am also helping my mom with her business, and doing some of the editing and pattern-making. I love dogs, watching movies and shows, hanging out with my friends, and traveling.

• My Favorite Travel Destination: Hawaii. I love any place tropical and warm but something about the Hawaiian lifestyle has me in love. I am a beach girl through and through and I would move to Hawaii in a heartbeat.  

• Bucket List Destination: Greece. It has been a dream of mine to go ever since watching Mamma Mia for the first time.  

• My Favorite Miks & Match Travel Accessory: the Open Top Tote Bag. The large bags are great for carrying all of my art supplies to classes.
